How it all began.

 

I was about 12 years old, Christmas eve.

My parents were busy preparing the christmas tree. Me, up in my room, with this little

black and white TV. Around this time they always show famous musician from all over the world!

 

All Jarrau... wow, I was faszinated by his improvising scales... Aretha Franklin!

uhwee, what a power voice... Ella Fitzgerald...! can someone sing like that?

Mahalia Jackson... I got very quiet... what a voice and spirit... Jackson Five....

wanna dance like that... Prince... no words, speechless... and many others...

 

And me, little Sabina started to improvise over, under and between the lines of

my heroes!

 

From Jazz, Gospel, Funk, R&B over to World-music I tryed it all and did my own little show

in my room!

 

My parents got all worried! But in the end they gave up to get music out of my head and my mom send me to classic voice-training!

 

So, here i am!

 

Music to me is a growing force.

 

Concious or unconcious. singing, listening, learning, searching and finding my own style!

 

Sometimes life makes you silence, but it never made me stop singing.

 

Music for me is a constant moving on, searching for a fresh vibe and finding my own.

 

It all started  with my classical voice-training in Belcanto Technik (1982-1985)

with Gabriella Szegleth-Szigmond (Budapest Ungary) Wonderful Opera Singer

and best teacher ever!

 

1983 -1984  Ohio State University USA. I took private lesson’s with Michele Barone

                     Horsflield in contemporary music and Jazz.

The surching and the learning went on in finding my own musical Identity.

 

Meanwhile i work on my 4th solo projekt, with my long time musical companion,

Urs Wiesendanger (composer, songwriter and producer)

  

I give vocal-lessons and do vocal coaching. I sing in various bands, work in studios

as lead and backup singer for different musicians and projects from: Jazz, Gospel, Blues, R&B, Funk to World-music..
